    Trout recipes?

British trout has an unmistakeable delicate, clean taste which lends itself to a multitude of dishes. Think pasta, soups, traybakes, curries, stir-fries and pies – anything goes. It’s also very lean and packed with essential nutrients so why not make it a part of your regular diet?

So easy to cook, trout can be pan-fried, poached, baked, barbecued or roasted. Choose from super quick boneless fillets, a side of trout or a whole fish. You can also get tasty smoked trout, perfect for bagels, pates and salads. Find trout in supermarkets, fishmongers and online.

#ShoutOutForBritishTrout what chefs & celebrities are saying about trout

“Well I’ve been busy in the kitchen today making Sunday lunch using some incredible British trout as I want to support our farmers dotted all around the country. In the UK we have almost 290 trout farms and they do a fantastic job of feeding us so let’s give them a shout out! I made trout en croute with a filling of mushrooms, spinach and cream cheese – so easy to do and a great dish for the Christmas season coming up. #shoutoutforbritishtrout”

    Angellica Bell, Scala Radio

“About to pop this beautiful piece of British trout in the oven… I’m going to serve it with a warm horseradish dressing #foodheaven #shoutoutforbritishtrout”

    Matt Tebbutt, BBC Saturday Kitchen

“I am very pleased to SHOUT OUT FOR BRITISH TROUT. British farmed trout is probably the most sustainable fish farming today. So I am going to be cooking some and I am asking as many of you as I can to try this amazing farmed fish. I am a convert from one that didn’t believe that trout would spice up so well.”

Cyrus Todiwala, Café Spice Namaste & regular on BBC Saturday Kitchen
